Chapter 5 Vocab Quiz is tomorrow.  This will be worth 20 points, so please make sure to look over your notes!  The quiz will be a mix of matching, fill in the blank and multiple choice.

Here are the words which will be on the quiz…

-energy: ability to cause change
-heat: transfer of energy from warmer to cooler materials
-kinetic energy: energy of motion
-law of conservation of energy: energy cannot be created or destroyed
-mechanical energy: total amount of kinetic and potential energy of an object
-potential energy: stored energy
-specific heat: energy required to raise the temp of 1kg of material by 1K
-temperature: measure of the avg. kinetic energy of particles
-thermal energy: total energy of the particles in a material
-work: transfer of energy through motion
