We Bought a Home

After two weeks of painful searching for our house in Asheville, we’ve finally found one!

We just received a call from our agent that the other folks accepted our bid, and we’re signing papers today on a great old home in East A’ville.  Fig trees, blueberry bushes, oak trees, cherry trees, lots of stone, two fireplaces, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, Img_0652
huge basement (I’ve never had one of those!) and no carpet (yay!).  I’ll post some pics when we get back to Columbia today (update… posted).

Update… we’re planning on completely finishing the basement which has a large great room that opens onto the back yard.  There’s also a fireplace down there!  Unfortunately, I don’t have any pics of the back yard just yet (we were so excited when we were at the house that we forgot to take enough pictures) but I’ll post some as soon as they are taken.

Closing date is Monday May 22 (first day of Hammond exams… no stress there!) so we should be moved in by the close of May.  Anna starts school in June and I start my official dharma bumming at the same time.

We’re about 7-10 mins (depending on traffic) away from Barley’s and the Orange Peel (and the rest ofImg_0655
downtown).  Concert goers and connoisseurs of fine beer/pizza are always welcome as guests.
