Baby Harrelson

Anna and I are more than proud, happy and excited to announce that we’ve got a baby on the way!

The due date (which you can follow by the awesome widget above) is around October 10, 2007. My dad’s birthday is October 5 and Schaefer (my beloved firstborn son and dog in the pic over on your right) has his birthday on October 12, so it looks like the baby will fall somewhere between those two.

I can’t tell you how excited I am to be a father. I can’t wait to toss the baseball, watch the Cubs, discuss Star Wars, camp out, cook breakfast, get ready for the prom, paddle a canoe, talk about justice and Gandhi, laugh, cry, hug, smile, and dream with this child.

My whole life has been a build up to this point.

I’m so excited.

Here are some pics…

Whoever you are and who ever you’ll be, I love you so much.

Whatever you do with your life and whoever you end up being, just please remember this…

“He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8).

Be good, my baby. Change the world, and always (ALWAYS!) serve others. You are special, you are incredible and you are my life. Thank you for being you.

The work makeup is gone...and I don't have time to redo...guess I'll just show them this page and see what happens!!!

I love this and I am so excited. This is the greatest days of our lives and it is only going to get better. Hank is a lucky little one to have such great parents. Papa is very happy too.
  • Congrats Sam!
Eh, Don't start discussing star wars right after the baby is born! (or worse, right now!). Let the baby watch the movies first! (oh and before that, learn the alphabet, etc.) :D

You also mentioned discussing Gandhi - he was a libran too! Born on the 2nd of October, National Holiday here in India.

    (Pranav says hi to baby)
  • Congrats, Anna and Sam, on bringing another Cubs fan into the world. It's a very important job that only a select few are chosen to do. This year will be the year just for Baby Harrelson!

I am so glad you understand what being a parent means this is all I have wanted for my son all his life. He has made me very proud of the young man he has become. Married a wonderful woman, has a baby on the way, and cares about others feelings. He is smart, good looking, has a great personality now. I am more proud than what I could have dreamed. I hope your son or daughter will make you smile each time you think of it. I hope YOU know you were always the center of my life.
  • Congrats to each of you! However, I'll need some help on these images. I see feet but where are the earbuds?

May your months ahead be filled with joy, patience and good health!

    Sam,

This is such exciting news! Congratulations to you and Anna!

    Best wishes,

  • Congratulations Samwise. As I told Molander- fatherhood is wonderful and shocking- at least it was for me. I fully realized the incredible power of birth when I held my baby for the first time and experienced the sensation of a giant anvil hitting me in the head. A good anvil, but an anvil nonetheless. :)

    -regards,

    Congratulations!
