Playing NES Games in Facebook, Organizing My Life in Facebook
I completely heart Facebook and can’t understand the people who “just don’t get it.” Facebook is a conch shell that you hold up to your ear in order to hear the chaotic, noisy and beautiful sounds of the cyber ocean. It’s become my personal Google where I can find most anyone I want to get in touch with, and pull in info about my friends and contacts when I want it and how i want it. That’s powerful.
For work contacts, there is no better system that I’ve found in my hours and hours of daily web usage. For staying in touch with family and friends, it’s essential in my life. I don’t care what your email address is or what your cell number is… just connect with me on Facebook.
I Twitter from inside Facebook, I use my 30Boxes calendar within Facebook, I send people txt messages within Facebook, I find things to do via Upcoming within Facebook… and now I’m playing games within Facebook via the NES Games application:
Zelda, ExciteBike, Pro Wrestling… talk about memories.
More and more everyday, Facebook is becoming the nerve center of my online experience. Of course I come out into the full sunshine of the interwebs every so often to do things like answer regular email, play music or Skype, but in general Facebook is combining the social and attention data and presenting a very capable platform for my needs.
If you’re on Facebook, find me (”samharrelson”) and add me as your pal.
