Everything through Posterous now.

steverubel: Twit bait! “5 reasons Twitter simply doesn’t matter” http://bit.ly/325Ngb twitter.com

.

I’m done with the lock-down and down-times. My micro and macro personal blogs will all flow through here (Posterous) out to Twitter, FriendFeed, Facebook, etc and the intake valve is Google Reader and GMail.

Don’t let me down, Posterous!

What was wrong with WP? Are you going to miss the customization and flexibility or is it worth the trade off for stability?

  2. Sam Harrelson says:

I'm still using WP for GriffinScience and AffiliateHack, I just mean as far as my personal blogging/twittering/facebooking message type minutia that I produce daily… Twitter is too unstable, Facebook is too friendstery etc.

Can you describe your Google intake valves? Do you get tweets mailed to your Inbox or read them as a stream? Etc.

I dont need anymore convincing – Posterous is the best way to go. WP is good and flexible – but with so many updates in the last 30 days and no ability to do an automatic update – I really dont want the hassle… I chose the path of least resistance!

I get @ messages on Twitter delivered into Google Chat via TwitterSpy as well as FriendFeed notifications (love their IM integration). Otherwise, I use Google Reader to keep up on tweets of the two dozen or so folks and ideas I want to closely follow on Twitter as well as FriendFeed, Delicious, etc.  RSS is very much alive :)

Anybody tries Tumblr? It’s easiest way to blog.

Tumblr just feels like it's missing something to me. Perhaps it's the simplicity and email-emphasis of Posterous that appeals more to me (plus the Facebook, FriendFeed, Twitter, Picasa etc integration).

I like Tumblr’s sexy UI but I notice that I’m slowly drifting everything towards Posterous. The Google intake is brilliant, and gives you a backup as well.

  10. Not Nurse Ratched says:

How does it give you a backup?

  11. Sam Harrelson says:

You can export everything out of Posterous at any time in a variety of formats via the API (or import as I did my old WordPress.com blog that went back to '05) if you like backing up that way.Personally, I mainly 'post' into Posterous using email (GMail in my case), so everything's 'backed up' in an email client as well.

Can you share more details on what you mean by “..will flow out to Twitter.” I looked at your other accounts and I can’t figure out how you are using Posterous in relation to the others. Thanks.

  13. celestew says:

Never mind, I just figured it out. Sorry for the interruption and thanks for the post.

Everything I post here ends up on Twitter, Facebook and FriendFeed via Posterous' integration. I had to spend some time yesterday answering happy birthday tweets on Twitter, but normally all of the data/content I'd want to tweet will originate here.
