"Living on the road my friend, is going to keep you free and clean…"

Of course that comes from Townes Van Zandt's fantastic "Pancho and Lefty" but it reminded me of this post from Steve Rubel concerning his thoughts from the road:

Free and clean are two strong conditions that I'm applying to all of my web production these days…free as in no shackles placed upon what I produce from a vendor and clean meaning my tweets, likes, etc aren't necessarily locked into any one corporate entity such as Twitter.  That's inside-baseball political thinking, but that sort of thinking is important as we continue to figure out these new avenues of expression and content production.  And no, I'm not producing works of art here, but these ephemeral little things are still pieces of me.

Maybe it's the teacher in me, but I see ownership over content production ("work") as an emerging trend in my middle school students and definitely something that will continue to shape web2.0/web3.0/web2010.

Fun few years ahead of us :)
