WriteRoom or Simplenote? Homage to @steverubel

I’ve been using Simplenote more and more after first flirting with the service in July. I always have my iPhone on my person while at school and I’m constantly needing to “scribble” down notes and information from students or other teachers and Simplenote has been a great addition to my sanity arsenal.

However, I keep hearing great things about WriteRoom from folks like Steve Rubel.

Anyone have a preference?  I’m needing:

– Hassle free note taking
- Web sync
- Ease of Use

Simplenote solves those issues for me, but I want to make sure I’m not missing out by not using WriteRoom.

WriteRoom.iPhone is more expensive, but I adds some nice features:- TextExpander support- Font / color choices.- Fullscreen editing mode.- Optional startup password- Option to lock screen orientation.- More robust syncing, you can make changes on webite, and on iPhone, and changes will be merged together instead of overwritten.- Sync server software is open source, and possible to self host. So you don’t need to store your date on my server.

Very cool, @jessegrosjean. I’m downloading now. I’ll do a review here in a couple of days after putting WriteRoom through the paces with my 8th graders!Sam
