Self Hosting Is Dead

A few weeks ago, I moved my personal blog (long self gosted at LivingDot.com) to a Posterous account:
http://samharrelson.com/after-years-of-self-hosting-its-come-to-poste I haven’t looked back because of 1) features 2) ease of use and 3) cost. The same reason we all outsource our email to GMail completely carries over for blog presences since most of the major services (Tumblr, Posterous, WordPress, Typepad and Blogger) allow for custom domains, offer backups and remove the need for incremental server-side updates. So, now I’m moving our class blog, GriffinScience , over to WordPress.com. Self hosting blogs is dead.
