More Kindle vs iPad in the Classroom Talk
I especially liked this blurb…
The E-Textbook Experiment Turns A Page : NPR: “‘I thought it would just kind of be a fun toy,’ Crane says. ‘It still is a fun toy, but it also … makes it really easy to read articles for class. In fact, I read pretty much all my articles for all my classes on this now. The instant boot time I think is really nice because if I have half an hour somewhere, I don’t have to set up my laptop to get my articles out.’”
I felt the same way about my iPad that SDS provided myself and a couple of other Middle School teachers this year until I wrapped my head around the important “instant-on” and discussion aid features the iPad does provide (compared to the Kindle or a laptop).
We’re still discussing our school’s iPad vs more Macbooks vs paper conundrum as I type this, but still… “something’s happening here and what it is ain’t exactly clear…”
