Ever since @h0zae killed his Twitter account last week (and before that), I’ve been trying to figure out a way to use this site as my primary place of content output (rather than Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Tumblr, Posterous etc) and I think I figured out the magic bullet tonight.
I’ve re-enabled Canvas by WooThemes and noticed that they have a new iPhone app that allows for tumblelog style posting on a WordPress installed site. Bingo. I’m using it to write this and can’t wait to see how well it handles tweet-like messages or photos.
Head to http://www.express-app.com to check it out. It requires a Woo Theme and is $5, but I’m ecstatic.
Full of Win in an otherwise months long embarrassing situation for Buncombe County residents…
Hats off to @ssspoonah
Anna and I are at our 10 year reunion this weekend.
We’ve noticed (along with many friends) that homecomings are what they used to be in the world of Facebook. There’s very little exchange of “OMG, How are YOU’s!” but many “Your kids are so cute!”
Not that there’s anything particularly wrong with that, but it does seem some of the magic of coming home has worn off now that most of my Class of 2000 are connected on FB.
Interesting times.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

A good reminder for all of us…

I would throw in kindergartens, primary schools, middle schools and upper/high schools as well…
Are We Commodities? – The Chronicle Review – The Chronicle of Higher Education: “What has happened in recent years is the dissolution of the innate tension between the university as the bastion of reaction and the cradle of dissidence.”
School is counter-cultural. We as teaching professionals should stop fighting that reality and own it!
I would add that you should teach kids to not follow leaders and watch their parking meters…
Yes, suspenders…

And yes, “Hunk” was self-annotated.
