I had coffee with one of my favorite persons in the world (Jose) this afternoon.

In the middle of our conversation I realized (even more) that I need to cultivate these type of face-to-face chats with people like Jose or June or Thomas or Don or Julie or Rich or Wendy or the other folks here in Asheville that I really do treasure and value.

We’ve all done the “tweetup” things in the past, but even those come with certain expectations and limitations.

Twitter is great for what it is, but I’m finally realizing that 140 characters will only take you so deep into a real community.

So, in 2011 I hope to see more of my favorite Asheville people face-to-face.
