About The Project | The Upstate Thinkers Project: “The main idea behind The Upstate Thinkers Project was for it to eventually serve as a base for middle/high school students of the upstate where they could share their thoughts on music, life, education, current events, and much more. Stay tuned for more, as the project will not have fully launched until January 2012.”

As Devin writes, this is more of a project than a blog and I hope he, Meredith, Will and future contributors live up to the mission statement Devin laid out.

This could seriously become a very interesting and valuable outlet for young folks in Upstate South Carolina.

I’m constantly reminded at the beauty of human expression in my job as a teacher. However, I’m also reminded of the arbitrary limitations we place on student expression in the interest of covering a curriculum we have set.

Let’s change the world by listening to the younger members of our species.
