Goodbye, Facebook and Spotify

It’s been a longtime coming, but I finally found the straw to break the camel’s back for good and decided to kill off my Facebook account in lieu of what I have here (this is a much better space for me)…

    I understand killing facebook, but why spotify.

    Mostly it is out of realization that Spotify views it’s users as its products to be harvested and sold. Requiring a Facebook login for new user signups goes against the open web model and sets a dangerous precedent for other companies willing to further commodify the web.
