About Sam
Sam Harrelson is a middle school math and science teacher and the Social Media Coordinator at Carolina Day School located in beautiful Asheville, NC. Sam also teaches “Exploratory” classes on iOS app development, robotics and programming essentials at CDS.
Sam has previously taught middle school at Spartanburg Day School and Hammond School, both in South Carolina. He has also taught at Newberry High School and the University of South Carolina as well as serving as an Adjunct Professor at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC. Sam has taught classes on American History, Literature, Dante, Hebrew Bible, Algebra and Geometry, iOS app development, robotics and programming essentials.
Additionally, Sam has been a marketing consultant working with both large and small companies in the U.S. and Europe to reach divergent audiences, form responsive communities and tap into the social web.
Sam’s main marketing experience is in the performance marketing industry with experience as a publisher, email marketer, website owner, Director of Business Development, Senior Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer. He was also an award winning publisher of ReveNews and CostPerNews, two of the leading publications of the online marketing industry.
He attended Mullins High School, Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC, Yale University, University of South Carolina and Gardner-Webb Divinity School as well as completing a three year appointment with AmeriCorps.
Sam’s personal interests include high energy physics and quantum mechanics, ancient religions, Roman Syria, archaeology and 19th century American literature and histories.
