Barbarella is Insane

So I'm watching Barbarella for the first time tonight. What a random yet insane movie. I love it. Although, this scene with the dolls is going to give me nightmares: Uploaded with plasq's Skitch! I'm only about 20 mins in so far, but it's been well worth the time investment up to this point :)

“Hushpuppies, Daddy!”

I could watch this all day long:

Cloverfield is a Rejection of “Social Media”

Amen... "Most of all this is a movie about how the young'uns have no tools for moral discourse and that all they can do is utter banalities and take endless pictures of each other and record their lives for no apparent purpose." Cloverfield is a fantastic movie for all the wrong reasons and makes you scratch your eyeballs/head/logic and reconsider who you'd go back for. Go see it for ...

Kurt Cobain: About A Son

Can't wait to see this (Cobain was a huge influence on my life. I literally "woke up" the first time I heard the opening refrain of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" in the car on the way to Marion, SC with my mom. I was forever changed...and still am):

Star Wars Celebration

Star Wars Celebration is this week in Los Angeles. It's the 30th anniversary of the first Star Wars movie (Episode 4). I want to be there! Here's a link to the official blog (interesting that it's a .wordpress.com blog... you't think they'd spring for their own hosted blog!)... Star Wars Celebration Blog

Aimee Mann

I could listen to her all night. Greatest female voice ever. I fell in love with her while Rion, Jon and I were watching the movie Magnolia in a NYC theater on 42nd St around this time back in Y2K. Watch out, Anna.

Gullible.info

From Gullible.info... "Patrick Swayze's Road House is the all-time top-grossing movie in Iceland." Wow.

Tatooine Still Inhabited

Wow... the sets that Lucas built for Episode IV (the original Star Wars movie) in Tunisia are still there and have evidently become inhabited by locals. That is, until I took a trip to the planet Tatooine itself — a real place in the middle of the north African desert, a well-kept secret of Tunisia. As I peered inside one of the impeccably built constructions, I noticed a mattress and ...

Snakes on a Plane - Greatest Movie Ever?

Just got back from Snakes On A Plane. Reviews sum it up better than I could, but let's just say you have to see this in the theater. Don't wait for the DVD because it will be completely cheesy and a waste. Nothing like seeing snakes bite a man in the pee-pee or a woman on her breast on the big screen. That said, it was ...

Snakes on a Plane - Today is the Day
